The New versus The Old
I made the spontaneous decision yesterday to head downtown for a quick photo excursion, drawn to the captivating presence of three iconic structures nestled opposite the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Among these architectural wonders, the Omni Fort Worth Hotel emerges as a striking sight, its sleek glass facade contrasting elegantly with the rugged allure of native stones. Positioned opposite is the Texas and Pacific Lofts building, a captivating tribute to the architectural splendor of the 1930’s, emanating an enchanting vintage beauty. To the right, commanding attention, stands the United States Post Office, an enduring symbol of history dating back to its establishment in 1856.
Equipped with my Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III, I carefully composed my shots, utilizing a 24mm tilt-shift lens to capture the grandeur of these building in their entirety. Opting for an f/16 aperture stop ensured a crisp detail throughout the frame, while a shutter speed of 1/250th allowed me to freeze the moment in time, preserving the essence of these architectural treasures for eternity.

The Omni Hotel of Fort Worth stands tall, its refined exterior adorned with a mosaic of glass panels that catch the light, creating a mesmerizing play of reflections against the backdrop of rugged stone accents.
United States Postal Service of Fort Worth
Adding to this architectural ensemble is the United States Post Office, a proud testament to the area’s rich history. Within its walls, intricate details crafted from marble, bronze and gold leaf speak of grandeur and permanence. Outside, ornamental motifs pay homage to the pivotal role of the cattle industry in shaping the region’s identity and development, a reminder of the area’s enduring legacy.
Texas and Pacific Lofts
Across the way, is a two-point perspective shot of the Texas and Pacific Lofts building which exudes an undeniable charm, its architectural features reminiscent of a bygone era, evoking nostalgia with every detail.
